I'm not talking about football, basketball, and definitely not baseball; I mean the serious "holy crap!" type sports that may or may not be lesser known, and may or may not be extremely dangerous
Damn. That "sport" where they ride horses cross country and jump over obstacles (eventing?) is actually really dangerous. There's only a few hundred 'pros' in the world but they've had a lot of deaths and serious injuries in the last few years.
Oh wow! You wouldn't think that would be too bad, but it makes sense. Also, the lumberjack competition things are pretty intense! I've only seen it a couple times randomly on TV, but they have the tradtional log rolling, a weird race-up-a-tree-and-then-cut-the-top-off, and other weird and extreme things. Women also compete against one another, but they are more manly than any of us. (eek!)
Here, have a sample: 1952 - 529-7 Hinds is back into the attack and Broad paddles him to long-leg for one. Colly back on strike. Colly, like Pietersen, likes to bring up his tons in some style - he slathered Warne over the top to reach 200 in Adelaide - but this time it's a doughty nibble to square-leg for one. That's his eighth Test century, and it came from 186 balls and included 13 fours. If Collingwood was a war, he'd be the Hundred Years' War. So ruddy, bloody attritional.

Holy f Uck! I don't want to know what it means to slather Warne over the top...
Cricket was on ESPN's top plays today, some guy made a catch while leaning over this tiny ridge like wall thing, and threw it back in bounds so he could catch it himself in there because otherwise it would have been 6 points for the other team for going over the wall, which I assume is like the cricket equivalent of a home run.
