You should really ask for some dates. You really don't seem to know when anything is taking place.
Apparently you don't get it so i will explain:
I've been stuck in medical testing hell since May of 2007. I finally got all my tests and everything done and now I am waiting for the surgeon general to approve my waivers which will basically say "no, David Sonnier does not have asthma and he does not wet the bed anymore like he did when he was 5 and he is not going to blow his own head off when he gets issued a gun." once I get those I will go get my MOS (job code) and swear in, thereby making me an official member of the military. after that, I will take the DLAB test (defense language aptitude battery) which is the test that all potential linguists have to take. if i pass that (and I'm pretty damn sure I will) I will get the MOS of 1A8XX (Airborne Crypto Linguist) and then I will get a ship date to basic training according to when that MOS and language of specialty is available. If I don't pass the DLAB, I will have to choose a different job (probably going to be programming or communications) and get a different ship date. One's ship date is determined by what job one chooses and when said job is available. To put it simply: IT IS NOT UP TO ME OR MY RECRUITER.
