obviously, I'm an atheist. I don't believe in god, the devil, heaven, hell, ghosts, reincarnation, karma (other than humanity induced), or tons of other things.
convince me otherwise! there was a thread like this in the GG forums, and it was pretty awesome, although tough since most people didn't believe in god there... but anyway, try. and you can't quote the bible to prove the bible is right, because that's sort of a circle argument.
however, let's do this without being wildly offensive/condescending.
it could be fun, no? or, I guess it could make everyone hate eachother, in which case, let's not do that and instead you can try to convince me that batman isn't the best super hero ever.
Well it's really hard to convince someone else when my whole idea is to NOT do that to ther people. It's also hard when my own ideas of religion are kinda vague, a hodgepodge of other ideals, and more or less only make sense to me...
Ok, I'm not going try and tackle the god thing right now, I'm still tired.
One thing that I think that you should take a closer look at, at least, is the possibility of there being ghosts. I've had some pretty weird **** happen to me.
Like my house for example the first couple of years that we lived in it. We'd go on vacation and before we'd leave we'd turn all the lights off in the house. But when we'd return after a weekend or whatever, the same light in the basement would be on. Also the house would smell like old people, you know that smell. After a day, the light would obviously be off and the smell would be gone, but it would return if we left again. It all went away when my mom started screaming at the ghost to get out of her house.

ok so that is slightly creepy! i've had some weird experiences myself. none of them occurred in my own house but in a good friend of mines. Her house is most definitely haunted. There is no question about it. Two people were murdered in her home about 30 years ago and everyone who has been to her house has experienced something weird. One night the vacuum literally moved across the room! Not even joking! And this one time I slept over there in her older sisters room and around 3 in the morning I heard laughter and footsteps on the stairs. I got up thinking my friend or her sisters were awake and found nobody there! Everyone was still asleep! It was creepy! Sometimes lights would turn on and off for no reason and the shower would just turn on. This all happened while my friend and I were alone at her house, so nobody else could have been doing this stuff. The creepy part is that the rooms these things happened in were the same rooms the people were murdered or tortured in. Scary I know! Lol! But of course some people still say ghosts do not exist. I of course think otherwise cause I've experienced so many weird things.
Unless someone was breaking in our house to **** with us, some annoying ghosty was messing with us. We would purposely make sure that light would be off, then when we got home it would be on. Doesn't do it anymore thank god, otherwise I'd yell at it for ruining the environment.

yeah I know what you mean but the truth is that i didn't know that people had been murdered in that house until after I slept over there for the first time.
Superman is the best super hero ever. The guy has everything pretty much everyone else has all combined into one. Batman has money and free time. He has no powers, so he's not really a superhero, more of a very effective vigilante.

what about in the batman vs. superman comics where batman totally pwns superman?
also, superman has it too easy. and batman's lack of powers IS what makes him super.
Also, they aren't the same species. Superman is technically an alien, so that puts him in a different category. It makes them difficult to commpare. Try batman vs. spiderman

That's how. I like batman for the whole "Who-gives-a-shi t-if-the-public-hates-me-I'll-still-save-your-asses" thing. But at far as literal "superpowers" go, most X-Men have cool ones.
Evolution: Full of holes and only relies on fact's that haven't been discovered yet, never will be discovered, or don't even exist to fill those holes.
Christianity: Full of holes and relies on faith to fill them.

I agree joe. Evolution occurs, deal with it. What I don't get is how Christianity is so adamant against it. They've evolved the teachings of the faith so many times before, why not say that God put evolution into motion....jeez...that is what I believe anyway.

By the way I watched something about Intelligent Design, and the way they explained it was something I could actually believe. From what I remember, the basic idea is that they think it's too hard to believe that everything on this planet (or other planets) is from chance. They think that some higher power (not necessarily a god, God, Allah, Zeus, or the billion other deities humans believe in) had the general design of our planet's life. I could see that as valid in the sense that of course, we still evolve, but if this higher power is high enough that it's more or less beyond our comprehension, then it IS by defualt kinda hard to explain. Also they make it extemely clear they are NOT creationists.
